Collaboration

Over the years, Department of Mechanics and Engineering science has entered into partnerships with top ranked engineering educational institutions around the globe, including California University at Berkeley, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, University of Bristol, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Northwestern University, University of Washington.

The Department of Mechanics and Engineering science has developed close relationships with its partner institutions covering a wide spectrum of activities ranging from student and faculty exchange, summer schools to research collaboration including joint supervision of PhDs and Masters. The Department aims to intensify the hosting of visiting scholars to reinforce such cooperation.

The Department has made continuous efforts to ensure that graduate students are exposed to research at the forefront of their specialties. Working with the partner institutions around the world, the School has launched a number of joint research bases and a dual-mentor system, under which a graduate student has two advisors, one from WHUT and the other from a foreign partner university (e.g., California University at Berkeley, A*STAR). Graduate students are successfully bridging with top scientists, scholars and researchers all around the world through  exchange programs, academic workshop and conferences, international competitions  to achieve their dreams in research area.
